Kelsi Sharp is an African American artist from the American Southwest. Growing up along Route 66, her work is strongly influenced by the signage, gas stations, and other relics found on the historic highway. After several years in the design industry in Texas and through apprenticeship with an iconic Santa Fe sign shop, Kelsi began Sharp Signs, a small specialty design and fabrication shop in Minneapolis, celebrating 10 years in business. Sharp has created for clients all over the country, including the Audubon Society, The Nature Conservancy, and locally with Walker Art Center, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis College of Art and Design, and the Minneapolis Institute of Art.
